Booking terms & conditions

Welcome to Hidden Treasures! We’re excited to have you join us on one of our unforgettable adventures. By booking an Experience with us and paying your deposit, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. We’ve simplified the language for clarity, but the full legal terms apply.

  1. Release & Assumption of Risk

Travel, by nature, involves certain risks. While we carefully plan and choose our partners and destinations, we cannot eliminate all risks.

Hidden Treasures operates in various locations, each with its unique challenges and risks. These may include less-developed infrastructure, different standards of medical care, and potential exposure to crime. By booking an Experience, you acknowledge these risks and agree to hold Hidden Treasures and its team harmless from any resulting issues.

This agreement extends to you, your family, heirs, and any representatives. It complements any additional waivers or releases you may sign.

  2. Health & Medical Considerations

Medical care varies globally, and sometimes accessing it can be challenging. We require you to have travel medical insurance to cover unforeseen health issues.

Experiences might occur in remote areas where medical facilities are scarce or below your home country’s standards. By joining us, you accept these conditions and agree that Hidden Treasures is not responsible for any medical care costs or standards.

You declare that you are fit to travel and participate in the planned activities. If you have health concerns, inform us beforehand to arrange necessary accommodations. Hidden Treasures reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings if a health condition poses risks.

  3. Booking Payments

Prompt payment is important not only to us, but also to our partners. Timely payment by our travelers allows us to reserve the best lodgings and ensure our partners are available for each Experience. Full payment is due 5 days before your Experience starts.

For bookings made more than 10 days in advance, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The balance is due 5 days before departure. For bookings made within 5 days of departure, full payment is required upfront and is non-refundable.

Payments for Detours are due in full at the time of booking and are also non-refundable.

Required Documents

Ensure you have a valid passport and, if needed, visas, permits, and vaccinations. These are your responsibility.

Provide proof of travel insurance at least 45 days before the Start Date or within one week of booking (whichever is later). Failure to provide required documents may result in cancellation without refund.

  5. Cancellation & Changes

All payments are non-refundable. Changes must be made at least 2 days before the trip’s Start Date.
 

If needed, you can change your original itinerary to a different trip with at least 5 days notice at no extra charge. Any subsequent changes will incur a $500 fee. Tours around Mexico City can be rescheduled once, with at least 2 days notice.
 

Hidden Treasures reserves the right to cancel or change an Experience for legal, safety, or operational reasons. In such cases, you will have the option to accept the revised itinerary, choose a different trip, or receive a refund.

  6. Special Requests

Inform us of any special requests or requirements at the time of booking. We’ll do our best to accommodate them, but cannot guarantee fulfillment.

 

  6. Photography & Recording

We often capture photographs and recordings of our trips for marketing purposes. By joining us, you consent to being recorded. If you prefer not to be included, please inform us in advance. We will respect your privacy to the best of our ability.

  7. Right to Decline Service

We strive to maintain a respectful and enjoyable environment. We reserve the right to remove or refuse service to any traveler whose behavior is deemed inappropriate or disruptive. No refund will be given for such removals.
 

  8.  Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory for our Experiences. Provide proof of insurance, including coverage for medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip interruption, and baggage issues. Travel insurance is not required for Detours but is highly recommended.
 

  9.  Complaints

We aim to address any issues promptly. Please inform us of any complaints as soon as possible during your Experience.
 

  10. Travelers’ Obligations

Respect the laws and customs of the destinations, follow our team’s instructions, and behave respectfully toward others. Failure to do so may result in removal from the Experience without refund.
 

  11. Limitation of Liability

Hidden Treasures is not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your Experience. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the Experience.
 

  12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of our jurisdiction. Any disputes will be resolved in our local courts.
 

  13.  Miscellaneous

These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and Hidden Treasures. We may update these Terms at any time, with changes posted on our website and effective immediately.

By booking with Hidden Treasures, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
